CONCEPT
Instead of adjusting the image on the cover to compete with other publishers, a concept involving the original wood carved illustrations was used. Each illustration is a different but, meaningful scene of the book. This gave the covers the fullness, tranquility, and artistic expression of the ancient art of hand printing that is unmatched by any other media. Emulating the era which this book was written.
COLOR
The color palate tone captures the mood of the new book cover design. Something vibrant, but not exhausting on the eyes was the direction I was going in. Not only did I explore color options, that would compliment each other, but also make the artwork on the cover unique.
